The First Nations Fisheries Council is a collaborative effort which relies on the active participation of British Columbia First Nations. We humbly thank the many people whose combined effort allows the Council to carry on its’ good work, and whose knowledge and commitment to B.C. fisheries is helping to move forward the dialogue relating to this important resource.
The First Nations Fisheries Council is funded through the Aboriginal Aquatic Resource and Oceans Management Program of Fisheries and Oceans Canada. We would like to thank Fisheries and Oceans Canada for their ongoing support to this initiative.
When the First Nations Fisheries Council was established the British Columbia Assembly of First Nations took on the challenging role of incubating the organization while it was staffed and went through an organizational development process. We would like to thank the BCAFN staff and leadership for their support and patience.
The British Columbia First Nations Leadership Council, and their supporting organizations (British Columbia Assembly of First Nations, the Union of British Columbia Indian Chiefs, and the First Nations Summit), have provided ongoing time, energy, and staff support to ensure that British Columbia First Nations Fisheries Council is able to represent British Columbia First Nations interests. We thank them for their continuing support.
We would like to thank Calvin Hunt, of the Coppermaker Gallery in Port Hardy, for the artwork design which forms the outer circle of the First Nations Fisheries Council logo. When Mr. Hunt heard about the work of the Fisheries Council he was quick to jump in and ask how he could help out.
The following First Nations contributed photos to the First Nations Fisheries Council website. We would like to thank them for their support and generosity.
